Special Notes

The IPS (Intelligent Power Supply) consists of several descrete power 'Zones'.  Each zone is individually controllable by the Axcys Software.   This is true when using Access Control (Keypads) or Proxitrol Multiplexed Wired Alarms, Wireless Alarms, Elevator Controls, Lighting Controls or any combination of Facility Control Systems.  To properly configure the software it is first necessary to document how you have physically wired the systems.  This means, you must write down what device address(s) are powered by IPS Address X.  As with ALL of the Axcys hardware devices, each IPS must be assigned a Remote Unique Address (RUID).

The Installer/Project Manager must also remember that although the IPS circuit board shows a Zone Number, this is the ZONE number associated with the IPS's Address.  In version 6.x of Axcys Integrated Security Software, this means that the Zone numbers are sequential and disregard the Remote Unique Address (RUID).  To be clear the best way to do this is to start with the 4Zone Plus 1 Controller as Zones 1 to 4.  Any additional IPS's would be zones 5-12 and so on.  This is IMPORTANT when completing the Lock List Excel Import file.

With the current versions of both Axcys products the IPS itself must be configured manually in the Software System.

In subsequent releases, this may change since it directly apposes how the rest of the system is configured.  For this reason, it is suggested that two sets of documents be created and kept up to date, that show an IPS Address, its Zone and which 'System' Zone this relates to.
