Things To Do

1) This computer must be running 24/7/365.  Nothing, other than start up, and login to windows after a power outage/resumption, should happen automatically.  So no Windows updates, no Adobe update, no updates at all, other than the Antivirus.

2) Any controlled automated functions, including backups, should occur during regular office hours.  Never when no manager is available.

3) Backups and virus scans, should exclude the c:\axcys folder - and all sub folders, and the C:\PVSW folder.  Backups will interfere with operation and will not back up the data or application when running. If using a newer version of Pervasive - such as V11, or V12 you may be able to perform backups.  Test first, but physically make a backup of the Data folder.

4) All power setting should be set to always on - no power saving mode, no sleep or hybrid sleep.  All PC buttons should be for do nothing or shut down.  No hybernation - ever.

5) Monitor may be set to auto off.

6) BIOS should be set to turn the PC ON, following a power outage, or disruption.

7) Only 1 Windows user account should be used, and should not require a human to log in.  This must have administrator privileges.  If more are used (not recommended) be sure to turn OFF Axcys before switching accounts.

If possible, the entire Axcys folder, and all of its sub folders, should be copied to the new computer in a location easily found.  Before performing the copy function, please turn OFF the gate program Axcys.  If you do not, not all files will be copied.
