Zones, which differ in meaning from commerical home or business security products, are supported by Globals Axcys Wireless Systems. What zone do, is allow the user to create separate, physical areas - effectively allowing the use of greater than one (1) address X to be used in devices. For example, the default Zone is 1. Zone 0 (zero) is reserved and may NOT be used.

While not normally necessary, the additional flexibility may be helpful when, for example, an Annex across the street from a Main Facility as well as the Main Facility both have wireless alarms. If both have similarly numbered units, 1,2,3,4, etc, then it may be easier to have the Main Facility set up as zone 1, and the Annex set up as zone 2. Then both can have Contact Addresses that match their Unit ID's.
