Time Zones

Time Zones are specific FROM/TO times used to restrict access based on approved hours for each Tenant.  These correspond to the Time Zone entered in the Property Management System (PMS) and are sent by the PMS to Axcys both when adding/updating a specic Tenant and when a Full Download from the PMS is performed.

In our implementation and documentation of the Axcys Interface (which is provided to the PMS makers) Time Zone Zero(0) is Standard Hours access, Time Zone One (1) is 24 hour access. Time Zones 2 through 99 are for whatever custom hours the facility may require.

For example, if you have standard hours of 6AM to 8PM, you might want to give certain Tenants 4AM to 9PM, or 3AM to 8PM. These would be set up in Axcys under Time Zone 2 and 3 respectively. The Tenant(s) you want to give those expanded hours to would have the corresponding Time Zone (2 or 3 in this example) entered into the PMS under their Account.

Time Zones also include a *Grace Period* that can be set as any number from 0 minutes (no grace) to 59 minutes. The default is 15 minutes.  This provides an opportunity for the Tenant to Exit the property after the set end time. This is important since if the hours are 4AM to 9PM and the Tenant arrives at 8:59PM, they will be allowed to enter. However at 9PM, they can no longer enter OR exit. Having the grace period allows them to exit up to 9PM + the grace period provided.

Optionally, you can allow the Tenant to exit anytime - however be aware that this means there is no ending time - they can leave whenever they want including the next day effectively giving them 24 hour access.

Time Zones and the time listed on the Keypad are not the same. The time on the KP is based on computer time and is for convenience only. The time used to determine accessibility is based soley on the Computer Time.
