Turning off the computer

1.  Effects on the operation of the Gate/Access Doors and Alarm System
Facilities using a Controller
When a facility is equipped with a Controller, turning off your computer, the one that the manager uses for the Property Management/Accounting Systems will have no effect on the operation of the Gate/Access Controls or Alarm systems.

Facilities using a PC
A property that uses their PC to run Axcys, to control Gate/Access or Alarm Systems should NEVER turn off this computer.  It becomes the central *brain* of the access control system.  It is subject to shut down, virus and other potential causes for failure.  Any such failure will result in the Gate becoming inoperable.  A Controller is always recommended specifically to avoid these and other issues.

2.  Effects on the Interface between the Property Management/Accounting System and Access Control System.
In both a Controller or PC based system, unless there is an installed web enabled interface on the Controller, no interface updates can occur. An example is that from U-Haul.  In most all other cases, turning off the PC will result in NO interface capability.  For questions regarding a specific Property Management/Accounting System Interface, please email support@global-electronics.com or call.
